Best solar setup for a shed

A solid shed solar setup has three parts: panels to capture the sun, a battery to store energy, and an inverter to power your devices.

**Panels.** Flexible panels work well on shed roofs—they bend to fit, use simple mounting hardware, and are easy to remove if needed (great for HOA rules). We use 100W panels; you can start with one and add more as you grow.

**Battery.** Lithium is the way to go: longer life, faster charging, and no maintenance. Sizes range from 50Ah for lights and phone charging to 400Ah+ for power tools and small appliances. Match the capacity to what you’ll run.

**Inverter.** This turns DC from the battery into AC for standard outlets. Pure sine wave is better for laptops and sensitive gear; modified sine is fine for tools and lights. Our kits pair the right inverter size with each battery.
