Raleigh-area shed power: DIY vs pro install

In the Raleigh–Durham area (Wake, Durham, Johnston), you can install your shed solar kit yourself or hire a local handyman.

**DIY.** Every kit includes step-by-step guides. If you’re comfortable with basic tools and following instructions, you can do it in a day. Low-voltage DC (under 50V) often doesn’t require an electrician in North Carolina for this type of install—but always confirm local rules.

**Pro install.** A handyman can mount panels, run wiring, and set up the battery and inverter in one afternoon. They can also handle permits and inspections if you want everything on the books. We list handymen who serve Wake, Durham, and Johnston on our Installation page—call them directly for quotes and scheduling.

**Servicing area.** We focus on Raleigh, Durham, Wake, and Johnston counties. If you’re elsewhere in NC, the same kits work; you’ll just need to find a local installer. Shop kits or get in touch if you have questions.
